Due to a coffee shortage during the Civil War, New Orleanians began extending their coffee supply by adding chicory, the root of the endive plant, roasted and ground. The result was a bittersweet, heavy-bodied brew. Coffee and chicory remains a New Orleans favorite today.

My husband and I absolutely love this coffee!! We can't buy it at home because they don't sell it in the city we live in. We live in Florida and his parents live in Texas, so any time we travel through LA, we stop and buy about 10 bags of this coffee. It's the best!!! The only downfall is that when you drink it all the time at home and get used to drinking it, no other cup of coffee anywhere can compare to it. It is a very BOLD blend and so good.
I am a Louisiana native. My Mom is a full blooded Cajun from Marksville, LA and I grew up with Community Coffee. When I got older, I tried the NO Blend and fell in love with it. it is bold, rich, and smooth. If you have never tried it, you are missing a great experience.
We thought we knew what good coffee was. I live in Sacramento, CA. I have a cousin whose husband is from Louisiana, his mom send them CC, coffee every month. They gave me a bag of the coffee to take home, when we ran out, I signed up for delivery now we, (my daughter & I) never have to drink that stuff from the market ever again. We look forward to our next shipment and our first shipment came just yesterday ....Thanks soooo much, what a REAL TREAT!!
I actually roast my own beans a lot of times, but so far as store brand coffee goes you cannot beat the New Orleans Blend or the Dark Roast. When I do my own roasting, I am actually trying to get it to taste like the coffee I get from this fine company. I recently converted from Dark Roast to New Orleans Blend for my everyday coffee.
Being raised in New Orleans, I grew up on the taste of Community Coffee & Chicory. When ever I moved from New Orleans the one thing I would have shipped would be Community Coffee. Now living in Oklahoma, my job is to introduce as many people to the wonderful taste of REAL coffee. I have converted my husband and my friend's parents, I am still working on my inlaws.
